I forgot, I saw TWO MP15's back in July 2015, on a CE move through Glen Head, they were bracketing a DE30ac

#153 was the Jamaica protect today, #157 was seen trailing on a CE move with DE30AC #410 leading it as it went by Carle Place this morning at 10:09 AM bound for the Montauk Branch. Also in Carle Place At 11:04 AM #167 and #163 went by light has it was headed to Holban yard to picked up a black gondola car. The #167 and #163 with the black gondola went by New Hyde Park sometime after 12:30 PM this afternoon.

152 and 171 had a ten car work train on 21 December, we were lucky enough to see it at Hicksville... Word is this could be for the second track on the Ronkonkoma branch...

Notice in this rrpicturearchives.net photo NY&A 156 has the same thing. But i'll admit I don't know why....

The reason for the plated window in the above picture is different from what is being mentioned in the post further above; it is cheaper to eliminate a purposeless window than buy expensive FRA glazing to replace a broken one.

As for the trivia, a handful of other 15s have also had the rounded windows on the cab side removed. I never knew about the unit in question, but I'd always imagined it was a result from the Bellport collision. When the 154's cab was completely reconstructed, those windows were removed as well.

Saw #172 again for the second time today at Morris Park plus #171 was there too in the fuel pad area. #166 was at Woodside station this afternoon for track work on the outbound side.

Hi,

What job does this train do at Jamaica? I'm a commuter and I see one parked just east of Jamaica everyday, just wondering what its role is?

Thanks!
