The 158 & 166 got around today. I saw them at Hollis pushing a loaded 20-car train of LIRR hoppers into Holban Yard, later saw them running light west through Jamaica, and then later on again running light east through Queens Village. Both looked and sounded horrendous, especially the 166.

I just saw one heading east on the Oyster Bay branch going through the East Williston train station. It was at the rear of the train, hood-forward. The train almost snuck past me, since I wasn't looking for it. I saw it out of the corner of my eye out the back door and only looked up in time to catch a clear view of the locomotive. I didn't notice what was ahead of it, but it looked silver. Perhaps it was a C-3 or another locomotive. The MP-15AC was remarkably quiet.

I couldn't figure out what I was looking at at first. The paint was so gnarly that it almost blended in with the trees.
