I hope they use the line south of Sangerfield for more than an occasional engine passing thru.

There has been weekend activity on the branch lately, something I've rarely observed in recent years.

Also, a few photos:

1) Ascending Paris Hill's 1.8% grade, Clayville, 10:02.

2) Paris Station, Paris Hill's summit, reached at 10:14.

3) Returning light to Utica, Nos. 3040 and 2782 are pictured here nearing Stone Rd, Clayville, 12:10. The building in the background was once the "Modern Dairy Milk Station" and shipped milk from here through the 1930's via the DL&W. There was another creamery a stone's throw north of here (Newark Milk & Cream Co.); both businesses were served by a 555' siding.

Was that you I saw with your camera at the Hubbardsville crossing May 7th around 2pm?
There has been a lot of activity in the Norwich area as far as maintenance.They have been working on crossing signals, even replacing gates.
Today my wife saw a truck going up the tracks spraying for weeds.

Nope, that wasn't me Milkman. I did see the weed trucks southbound by Genesee St, Utica, yesterday.

today i saw nysw crews working on hale street crossing in norwich i was going to stop to talk to one of them but they were really busy so i didnt stop

A NYS&W engine went thru Norwich today around 2:30 pm.

He'll go back North later in the day or over night. And he won't be alone.

any idea why they ran a 2 engine units threw norwich today?

Train just went by our house in Norwich heading north at 2:45pm.
