Is the date the NYSW bought/acquired 2012 known?

I will venture a guess it was acquired in early 1988.
It was brokered through Wilson Railway Eqpt in Iowa and had been B&O 3800. It may have had wreck damage when on Chessie, I don't 100% remember. I am pretty sure Wilson also painted it, as Rome did not and I do not think Little Ferry did.
