Hello,
I just stumbled on the news that CN would not renew a 20 year lease on a portion of the Goderich-Exeter Railway’s System, taking the route back. Could anyone provide more information on this? What was/is the actual trackage of the railway?
Thank you for any help.

This includes:
The Guelph subdivision from London to Silver
The Huron Park Spur in Kitchener
Waterloo spur in Kitchener/Waterloo/Elmira (Owned by region of Waterloo, operated by CN for freight only, including the new LRT/Streetcar portion of shared access)
Fergus Spur Guelph to Galt
Guelph N spur (former Fergus sub north) in Guelph

GEXR from Stratford to Goderich continues to exist and operates 7 days a week, GEXR purchased that segment in 1992 and continues to own it outright.

CN's operations are now based out of Kitchener and all local jobs on the line are run by Internal shortline crews out of this terminal. For more details see March 2019 Railpace if you can get a copy.
