Anyone using the new Yaesu FT-250R?

I did find very good reviews on Eham about this radio. It has a desk charger,a squelch you set with a know not a menu andwhat seems to be an easy programing job. I went to HRO today figuring to buy the 250r but the display is so small. If you don'tneed the big display then I think the FT-250r is a very good value at $20 less than the FT-270rwhich is what I ended up with.Having fun trying to program it now....

I have had it since September and it is very complicated to operate, but as far as build, sound quality and reception (with the\ $20 SRH77CA antenna) I am impressed with the phenomenal reception of the radio. Definitely worth the money.

I bought mine at HRO in Oct of 2009.I originally went there
for a Unicom. The guy behind the counter showed me this
instead. Am I glad he did. The reception is incredible to the
point of getting rid of my 3 scanners afterwards. There was no
comparison. I have the Railcom antenna. Although it got damaged
at a McDonald's Drive through, so I cut it down from it's original
44 inches to it's current 17.4 in. I find no difference. I believe
that the reception is even better when my car is in motion, as opposed
to standing still.
I had no trouble programming it(radio). I put in all 96 AAR fre-
quencies, lock them all out, and just unlock the ones I currently use.
They are all labelled, so when it stops at a frequency, I read what
the freq. is.(eg. CSX rd.,PAR tr., Boston East,etc.)

Still have to program my 270R but I have heard stuff on my house antenna that my scanners/Icom 746 can't detect !
