I don't understand where the B & P's routing this traffic now. Someone on a different forum suggested it's an ex-Pennsy line but I haven't been able to find that. Do you know which line this is?

Mr. Cain,
The B&P does use an old Pennsy route, the old Buffalo line. They use this line from Buffalo through several towns including: West Seneca, Elma, Wales, Holland, Arcade (where there is an interchange with the Arcade and Attica) down to Machias (where there is an interchange with WNYP) then crosses over to the B&O (ex-BR&P) Rochester line into Ashford Junction where it continues on the B&P line to Salamanca. There are many people on this forum who are very knowledgeable about the B&P and other lines in New York so feel free to ask questions! Here is a link to a B&P system map, its the fourth image down.
Hope this helps!

B&P's old mainline was the BR&P line..
the middle section of that line is now gone.
Now the B&P "mainline" south out of Buffalo is the former PRR line, now operated by the B&P as its through-route.
(NS still technically owns the line, but B&P is the only railroad that operates on it. B&P leases it from NS.)
This line runs right along the edge of Arcade and interchanges directly with the A&A on the west side of Arcade.

I haven't seen the B&P local on a weekend.

The B&P local is now running 2 times a week to Arcade. This is the feed mills busy season.

I've been lucky lately to catch the B&P in action in the Arcade area.

This post covers the original BR&P main to Buffalo that the B&P abandoned and uses very rarely.

Current end of track at Jewett Holmwood Road:

One lane road bridge over the r.o.w. near Springville replaced with a culvert for a future rail trail:

Are the 2 times a week on a regular schedule, or as needed? I will be in Arcade next Wednesday all day and want to know if they will be switching on Wednesday.

I am really surprised that no rail bumper or at least a pile of dirt has not been put at the end of the tracks in Orchard Park. Last I walked it , you could drive thru the brush on the tracks.

In the back of the June Railpace (under the B&P section), it says B&P is worried about the increasing problems at CP-Draw and that it might have to shut for repairs. As a result they are looking at a "Martin Rd. connection" between the Orchard Park sub of the B&P and a PRR Buffalo line near MP3 in Lackawanna. I looked at a map and am not sure what they are talking about, especially what they mean by the PRR line MP3 in Lacakawanna. Or do they mean when the B&P crosses over the cutoff line from Blasdell running North East - I'm not sure of its name, both the LV and NYC(?) had nearly parallel lines - I think now the actual tracks for the most part on are on the LV Row except near the west end. This crossing of the B&P and this line I can't name isn't right next to Martin Rd, however, and I think I've read the line I can't name might not be in service. Do they mean a connection would be built at the crossing ??
Help! JS

Yes, that is the "cutoff" line I was referring to, and the crossing I was wondering about. I guess they would have to put in a connection... Anybody know more?
JS
EDIT: did some digging - back in the day there were 3 cutoffs around Buffalo in that area all right next to one another. From the northwest to southeast, they were the Lehigh and Lake Erie (LV), PRR West Seneca Branch, and the NYC (Gardenville Br?). What's left appears to be the PRR east of the B&P, which is tied over to the NYC west of the B&P. You can see the jog on aerial photos. I was wrong about saying in my earlier post that what was left was mostly LV - it is mostly PRR.
