Shore Junctions

Post by Bobby S » Sat Aug 03, 2019 9:01 pm

I know that Wildwood Junction is a popular topic most of the time, but what about the others? I believe many spurred of the Reading and PRR long ago to many shore communities. Is there anything worth checking out if anything even remains? Like for instance, Sea Isle City. You could see where it came into town on Google maps. Any station pics or info where it went from there if anywhere?

Most of the remnants of the old junctions are gone. The CMSL restored some of the trackage around Woodbine Jct for car storage.

All places I've explored, and with relative ease.

If you are into the P-RSL, I just today found a book on it. Loaded with pics, lots of info. Terminal track maps and full equipment rosters. (Found it in a box I was poking through in the attic. A eureka moment).

The book is "By Rail to the Boardwalk", by Richard M. Gladulich, 331 pages, copyright 1986. Start to finish of the story, from ACRR, P&R, PRR, and WJ&S, to the start of PATCO. Fascinating.
They tell me to act my age. I don't know how to do that. I've never been this old before.
