Acquired a couple of checks for a freight shipment of hay picked up from the Owens, Delaware station of the MDV in 1920.

Not sure how clear the writing will come through when I post the images, so I'll type the text:

R.J. Clendaniel
Lumber and Timber, Dealer in Oak and Pine Mine Props and Piling
R. R. Ties, Lumber Cut to Order in Car Lots
Ellendale, Del
April 19,1920
Pay to the order of MD&V Rr Co $57.54
Frt on car hay at Owens Sta

The second check is pretty much the same, except on July 14, so I'm guessing it was balance due at 90-days.

Even though the freight was received at Owens and that's who the check is written to, the back says the check was received at the Oakley, Delaware station.
