UP Annouces Video Remake Contest

2012 is a special year for Union Pacific Railroad, marking the freight rail giant’s 150th year of operation.  As a way of starting the anniversary celebration, Union Pacific has announced that will be holding a video remake competition with $35,000 in prizes. UP is encouraging rail fans to remake the company’s iconic 1970s commercial, “We Can Handle It.” The grand prize for the commercial remake will receive $15,00 with an additional $5,000 going to two finalists and six runners up receiving $1,000 each.  The entry deadline is July 1 and videos should be submitted to www.up150.com.

It has been clear since late last year that Union Pacific is looking to make their 150th year one to remember and the video contest is a great way to start the celebration.  Rail fans will enjoy recreating the iconic UP commercial and several entries will be lucky enough to take home cash prizes for their efforts.  All those who want a chance at winning the competition, or who would simply enjoy making a homemade commercial, should submit a video in UP’s commercial remake contest.
