Re: Plymouth & Lincoln Railroad (HOBO, Winnipesaukee Scenic)

Current State Statutes in NH give favor to the railroad to operate, and then there is the STB. The Lakeport Draw is kept in the raised position, in season, and lowered when needed, there's no "Act of Congress" to make that happen, maybe a miscommunication though at the time  The outg...

In the case of the local media in Laconia, there's a small daily tabloid called the "Laconia Daily Sun". The three common points are The Laconia Daily Sun, the outgoing Mayor of Laconia, and a member of the WOW Trail Board of Directors.. What do all these have in common ? This is all one p...

The Original intent of the WOW Trail was the creation of Rail with Trail". Now the WOW Trail people have gone rogue armed with a taxpayer funded study that basically tells them (what they want to hear) that removing the tracks, today from Lakeport to Weirs Beach, and tomorrow the entire corrido...

It will be interesting to see what power winds up pulling these trains into Bow.. CSX or Pan Am's ? (If this happens, of course..)

There are many brick walls that the WOW people will encounter on their activist ways to construct the trail in place of the tracks. I would say with a high degree of probability that the owner associations of the private gated communities along the west side of Paugus Bay will probably do everything...

Mr. Beetle sure plays the old wind song with his misinformed facts. The WOW Trail study paid for by the WOW Trail and Laconia taxpayers got told exactly what they wanted to hear. If someone gave me 40K to do a study, I would tell them exactly what they wanted to hear. Sort of like the Laconia Sun's ...

PLLX 41 is a privately owned car. It's very doubtful it would be used for excursion purposes.

On Friday 8/9, the New England Southern Crew took care of business, making their complete 3rd run of the season, departing from their Canterbury World HQ south to Concord, north to Tilton with loads, south to Concord with empties, then north back to Canterbury, light.

United Rail seems to be on the prowl to acquire the Saratoga & North Creek line in NY State, and up to other filings with the STB. The seemed a notch slightly above the full fledged scam known as the "Boston Surface Railroad Company" which is going no where fast. Nice to see their shin...

Not quite Horseshoe Pond Road, they are running about 1.5 to 2 miles south of the Sewalls Falls Road Crossing. The owner and his family did a great job clearing out their portion of the Northern filled with years of no maintenance, weeds, and downed trees across the tracks. There's no tracks across ...

The New England Southern Crews went north with two loads on Saturday 4/27 and south to Concord with one empty on Sunday 4/28. It does not appear that anything has changed hands..

I think that's a splendid idea ! Cleaning up around the tracks in Concord wouldn't be a bad idea either. The first views people see of Concord are that of the garbage piles and the overgrown brush on railroad property next to I-93.

It's easy to speculate and guess what the new owners of NEGS are going to do, no one really knows for sure...yet.. The sale has to close first.. I agree with ROCKGUY, no one worked harder to creatively make opportunities happen than Pete, keeping 3M happy, creating 2 Military trains, the recent rail...

Hello, each bay holds one hopper, and yes the Pan Am crews move cars in and out of there. You may be able to find some pictures on NERAIL of their switching work.

Hello, Hendrix usually gets covered hoppers. Pan Am Crews go up there almost once a week, and they do the runaround in Wilton. It's not pretty, but they do move along at 5mph or less. Milford Bennington also uses those tracks in warmer weather between Wilton and Granite State Concrete a little ways ...
