Question - I've been in Point Pleasant lately (for various reasons) and usually try to catch whatever train is crossing the bridge while I'm there. I've yet to go to Bay Head Junction (amazingly). Is it worth taking photos down there or is it really better action in Red Bank with the possibility of ...
ME-02 usually works midday yes? Noon to 2 sometime?
It's been pretty much forever since I've seen any freight on the RVL. Who delivered the recent cars? NS? CSX? Is this Conrail Shared Assets? Conrail still "owns" the ROW from Elizabeth to E'Port yes? Just curious...
Kilroy, I was wondering if there was a good summarization of that whole drama... I"m going to look in that other forum as you suggested. That was one weird episode I remember the test trains going through, years ago, and some cars parked in Cranford by the M&E... but I heard there was a lot...
They have only raised $3,759 of the $65K needed to save this engine. I'm going to donate but it's not looking hopeful unless they can REALLY SPREAD THE WORD. Would hate to see it scrapped...
Nice trip yesterday behind M&E 19 and 18. Great people too. VERY happy that this engine will be saved and retain it's M&E colors...!
Is 18 going to be sold? Scrapped? Or just kept for a rainy day?
I was so happy to see this. I contributed to TriState last week (and joined their group as well) and hope to be able to do some volunteering as well. It's nice to see some good news for a change...
Well done!

There are a lot of recent posts on various CNJ and NJ railroad FaceBook groups lately. I'll locate and try to post...
Looks very promising.
Some good action! I miss those horns now. Well, the signs were up about repairs in mid-December so I guess they finally got it done. I was in Norway from Christmas until last week so coming home it's all very quiet now. Heard one errant horn over the weekend but otherwise just the normal late-night ...
I have been VERY much enjoying the variety of horns lately.... So if the bid is due this week that means it'll be like the old days for quite some time to come. With the clear, cold air last night the trains going through in the wee hours were extraordinarily loud and clear. I loved it, the rumble i...
I'm telling you, the action is hot at Potters these days! I've been out of town the last few days but will be back in NJ tonight, so I"ll be listening for the horns. Maybe I'll take a little stroll down there tomorrow and check out the crossing. "Tingley Lane will be shut down until furthe...
Every couple years or so I like to check in on this one particular thread. Has Lackawanna Cutoff Passenger service been restored yet? Is it any further along than the Freehold Mystery Service? ...or light rail to E'port? (My personal pet fave, waiting impatiently...). If not, I'll check in again in ...
There was an issue with the sensors in the road that allow the exit gates to come down. The responsibility for fixing the issue lies with the township. Until the issue is resolved the crossing does not meet FRA Quiet Zone requirements. If the people want to complain talk to the town not the railroa...
Something must be up at Potters (Inman Ave, Edison - LV double track crossing). The last couple weeks the trains have been blasting the horns through there. Personally I love it, it's like the old days, but it must be driving the people living Right On The Mainline kinda' nutso. They're the ones tha...
