Doesn't matter GBN because the locomotives that we are running is not the same. What we have is a combo of the vectron and sprinter platforms and whose to say that what is is this locomotive that is in your YouTube video has exactly the same thing as what amtrak ordered. I'd be willing to bet that i...

Can we cut these engines some slack? This really is the first winter they are in servic. THe first few sat around most of last winter and that would've been the real test. The ALP46 which arguably is one of the best locomotives in service had problems the first winter or so and the first real hit su...

Amtrak does not own this line. Septa most certainly own it. I do believe the power though comes from Amtrak though and that's it.

Can't blame Amtrak for all the delays in the Nyp to Harold section since half the time the PSCC operators are LIRR and that's contractual. Also you have certain stretches of track out of service within Harold for ESA construction.

The reason Amtrak doesn't run the stone trains to Glen Mills have nothing to do with the bridges. It has to do with Delta taking the track out of service to all train movements from South Elwyn to Glen Mills. It may not be out of service but I honestly forget the term septa uses. Septa wanted a chun...

Uhmmm if that brings you so much enjoyment Dutch then be my guess but since I didn't bad mouth any train crew or mention anyone by name and neither did BB, you would only make yourself look bad and petty like we know you to be at times so please post away this list of names you supposedly have and s...

As a locomotive engr for Amtrak, I do side with Blendedbrake on many issues but not all. The issues I have with MNR are with management and possibly with training but not with T&E. I think the train crews are some of the most professional I have ever met. This incident in GCT couldve happened wi...

For thr history buffs, In the tunnel (exact location I forget ) west of 15th street I believe , there use to be switches between the subway surface car and the elevated. Switches have been out for a LONG time but the openings in the girder work remains. This interlocking was around when the tunnel f...

Speaking of remans, they may be around a little longer than anticipated as the ACSs do battle with the cab cars. We'll see. This seams so obvious from my point of view so I must be missing something. Why wouldn't amtrak ask for push pull as a capability straight from the factory? All the transit ag...

Considering that ridership isn't all that high on weekends on the BSL, Ihave to ask why wwould you need the extra trains when the locals have plenty of capacity? Also when headways are longer on weekends, passing a local for an express to get somehwree is pointless since the local will probably be a...

I have often criticized MNR about certain things and maybe it sure has taken long to replace the catenary but had it have been any company would it be done any quicker? I think we all know the answer. No.

Actually the FRA and NTSB has a lot to say about Metro North. Honestly I think Njt does an excellent job with its trackwork. Considering the amount of trains they run, there track record is pretty good.

Conrail has an arrangement with NJT to use Stiles Street Yard in the event there are flooding concerns at the MMC. I don't think they'll be staging any oil trains there. As for the location of the racks, they are in the tank farms next to the crossing on Lower Road, which is over by the airport. It...
