Had followed the train out of Ithaca that day with my VW "Bug". Parked east of the embankment and hiked across a field in order to grab that photo.

The train consisted of 21 empties and 64 loads of coal.

Yes, the A&I Branch closely followed the east shore of Cayuga Lake.

The final photo in the above post was of Lehigh Valley Railroad local IL-1. I took the photo on October 8, 1973 and Herb Trice used it in his book The Gangly Country Cousin on page 116.

The DL&W North Alexander-Ray, 3.7 miles, abandoned in 1964.
Ray-East Lancaster, 16.7 miles, abandoned in 1963.
East Lancaster-Lancaster, 1.7 miles, abandoned in 1963.

The Erie Rochester Branch, North Alexander-Batavia, 5.1 miles, was abandoned on April 1, 1976 upon the advent of ConRail.

THE Auburn Road was abandoned as follows:
Victor-Pittsford, 10.4 miles, 1960.
Canandaigua-Victor, 8.5 miles, 1978.

The Sodus Bay Secondary:
Seneca Castle-Newark, 12.0 miles, was abandoned in 1973.
Hall-Seneca Castle, approved for abandonment 06-03-1979.

A photo that I took from the Lockhart Street Pedestrian Overpass with my Kodak Baby Brownie Special camera in July, 1949, facing in the same direction, reveals what appear to be a line of cabooses on a track in that area.

A correspondent who resides in Upstate New York recently related that the Finger Lakes Railroad is repainting some passenger cars.

Will these cars be utilized in excursion service by FGLK?
