Re: CMQ Profitability

They have also been hauling a fair amount of hot asphalt in the last few months. Placard 3257. You can notice it showing up on the video of job 1 crossing the bridge because it's a white placard. Looks like about 8 loads on this train.

Re: Woodland Pulp LLC/St Croix Tissue

It doesn't sound like the tissue will begin moving until this summer. Woodpulp has already been moving quite a bit and the Baileyville mill has just said they plan to ship over 100 more carloads between now and the end of the month.

Re: Woodland Pulp LLC/St Croix Tissue

It helps Woodland when the supply chain comes from both sides of the border.

I have also heard that from someone in the wood supply business.

Woodland Pulp LLC/St Croix Tissue

I was told by a NBSR employee that they will be hauling tissue from the mill in Baileyville shortly. Apparently in order to secure the deal Irving is going to buy wdpulp from Woodland Pulp LLC to ship to their new tissue plant in Georgia. CMQ had put in a bid to ship tissue by truck to a CMQ translo...

Re: "Up North" Gawking (District 1 sightings)

I was told by one of the NB Southern crew on the McAdam-St Stephen run that St Croix Tissue in Woodland is going to start shipping their product by rail. At first it will only be 15 cars a week but they expect that to increase. Any idea where this goes?

Re: "Up North" Gawking (District 1 sightings)

NB Southern train 907 left McAdam Yard at 1650 Atlantic time today with 28 empty spine cars which I assume are headed for Pan Am at the Keag.

Re: "Up North" Gawking (District 1 sightings)

A post on the RailsNB Facebook page said there were a number of Elmskip containers on NB Southern train 908 yesterday running from McAdam to Saint John. Anyone know where these came from and what is going on with this movement?

Re: NBSR: St. Croix Tissue Coming Online

How accurate and reliable is your info CN? I know the mill brass had mentioned last year an extra 1300 cars of inbound traffic but didn't say anything about loads coming out of the mill.

Re: Maine Northern Railway (ex-MMA lines operated by EMR/NBS

There is a long string of LPG tanks on the NB Southern eastbound in McAdam Yard at 2315 AST. They have a lot of snow on them so I'm guessing they are the tanks from Oakfield heading to Saint John to be loaded. In the past couple of weeks tracks 30, 31, and 32 in McAdam have all been cleared out of t...

"Them" I'm assuming is Irving. As I said I was told that by a NB Southern employee...whether they know what they are talking about is anyone's guess.

Re: Maine Northern Railway (ex-MMA lines operated by EMR/NBS

I certainly could be wrong but I was told if they let them go they wouldn't be able to get them back when the propane season was in full swing. Most of them have left McAdam Yard now to go back to Saint John, I assume to be loaded. They are definitely lpg, placarded 1075.

Re: Maine Northern Railway (ex-MMA lines operated by EMR/NBS

NB Southern is storing lpg tanks everywhere so they can keep them in their service when needed. McAdam Yard is full of them.

The first NB Southern train to Saint John in almost two weeks left McAdam Yard today at 1220 ADT. The washouts are finally repaired.

Re: "Up North" Gawking (District 1 sightings)

It's Moosehead. They have a huge warehouse where they load the cars at the Dever Road yard in Saint John.
