Many pages back there was discussion of using the line for light rail. Some towns the line runs through doesn't want anything that connects with Newark and their town.
Amazing how the Nimbys never consider bus lines or roads as connections to whatever town's residents they don't want near them.

Although I have yet to see an example of this new technology in Vermont the nearby New Hampshire Central Railroad is reportedly testing a version made by Lockheed Martin.

Re: SEPTA NPT card will be "SEPTA Key"?

"While e-payments do incur small processing fees (IIRC 2%-3%) for the merchant, letting the card/app issuers handle processing etc. should be a lot less hassle for SEPTA than setting up and maintaining their own in-house transaction engine* . The issuers have huge, well-established, and robust netwo...

Prices to ride have been cut. I received about $35.00 back for my two tickets that I decided to keep.

NJDOT is the statewide transportation authority which includes highways, airports, etc. NJT is the operating organization. They are connected but technically not the same. I do believe it is NJT that owns the trackage and ROW's.
Correct.

NJT owns everything from Pennsauken Delair Junction to AC, Ocean City, (including the bike trail), Cape May, (including the Sunset Beach running track), and also to Woodmansie.

I hope none of the residents at the meeting were hurt by the rush of politically connected consultants speeding into Wilkes Barre.

It's "come and get it" time for the consultants.

What happened the the SW-1 that was parked in Monroeton? Google Maps shows a building with a lead heading to it just outside of town but nothing else. There is a landlocked hopper at the feedmill.
Is the hopper landlocked now? I thought the track was still intact to it's connection in Towanda?

Remember getting off at Pittsburgh and them using an old trailer on the platform with the Pittsburgh station completely boarded up. The rest rooms had the old gold plated faucets in them, though.

Re: Atlantic City Line to Reopen Early With Added Service

The late night I think most are talking about is the 12:44am train. Casino employees who work 4pm to 12am are forced to drive or take the bus. The schedule is HORRIBLE for casino employees in general. Getting into work and leaving even with the traditional 9-5 shifts. From a day trippers perspectiv...

Re: Canal Slip in Hoboken

I worked on the committee in my town for the Camden to Glassboro line and while I agree with all of that theoretically, none of us, which included the mayor and business leaders, could understand why it was costing 2.5 billion dollars and taking over 10 years to restore passenger service when the ri...
