A new train is being added to the schedule effective 4/15/24

Great Neck 7:53 am
Little Neck 7:56 am
Douglaston 7:58 am
Bayside 8:00 am
Grand Central 8:24 am


To accommodate this train, Train 2019 will now arrive in Grand Central 2 minutes later at 8:27 am

The latest track work timeline lists Laurelton (February-March) and St. Albans (April) for upcoming ADA related work.

There was a CE move going through St James around 130am with engines 409/171, but nothing else outside of the regular schedule on 12/4.

Comparing Conshohocken with these former stations is quite different - 500 riders/day is good patronage for many stations on the LIRR - I would not be surprised if Ronkonkoma-Greenport "Scoot" ridership turns out to be less than that daily to Medford, Yaphank, Riverhead, Mattituck, Southo...

There are white arrows that will be lit for westbound trains routed for Grand Central. There are eastbound white arrows lit for trains routed to the Port Washington Branch.

Some Information for those interested:

Valley Tower was closed in conjunction with GN 2-21 (dated Sept 23, 2023 at 10:01 am) and all operations moved to JCC in Jamaica.

As far as the actual time the cutover was done...

Lead would be the last remaining "tower" with a block operator. Places where we have operators outside of JCC like West Side Yard, Mid Day Yard, Brook, Grand Central, etc.. are all located in crew facilities. As an example, the operator and yardmaster for Brook are no longer in Brook Tower...

Train 14, the direct train from Penn to Montauk that runs on summer Thursdays is known as the "Musketball". Today is the first time I've ever heard of this. This was referenced twice today by the LIRR on an internal messaging system.

We now have a block operator on duty at Belmont, and things will go a lot smoother with the switches being remotely controlled.
