Re: Vermont Activity and Sightings

Just wanted to take a minute to recognize a great milestone for the CMQ in Vermont, it took an extremely long time to be realized but as of last week, CMQ has finally returned to the practice of the previous 2 railroads in having the Newport based crew pull their own traffic out of Farnham and it sh...

Re: POED / EDPO (Portland - East Deerfield trains)

Look for more Irving /csx traffic moving off of cmq and onto par in the not so distant future, notably lumber. Rumor has it cmq rates too high and arrogant service issues around farnham. Have heard Vtr may be forced to cut back conn river line service to cmq account of abysmal vermont service from C...

Re: Rockland Branch Discussion

Are those new to CMQ ACF 4650 center flow hoppers destined for Dragon service? I have read That the ACF 4650 center flow hoppers are for haul grain from Aroostook county to market. Blue Seal Richford Vt oat traffic returning? Interesting MNR didn't lease the cars. Not likely, blue seal absolutely d...

Re: Vermont Activity and Sightings

Expect much more of this in future, cmq only running one day this week. Mondays only. Terrible railroad for vt customers and connections. Absolutely terrible.

Re: Vermont Activity and Sightings

If I had not been there to see all this, I would not have believed it. On Monday May 1st I ventured to Richford. 710 arrived with 31 cars at 13:45 with a striking array of power: 6537, 3815 and 2540. All three units returned to Farnham with 18 cars and I think they were all empties. That left 3812 ...

Re: Vermont Activity and Sightings

Yes they are a joke, loosing business to pan am because their rates are too high and transit times are too long. Recently a customer had to shut their mill down as they ran out of product while thier super hot loads sat on Cmq tracks waiting for 7 days only 30 miles from said mill. And as of today c...

I have been saying for a while that railroads are thier own worst enemies, most are too arrogant to even admit it but necr is a prime example...

Re: New England Central Railroad (NECR)

There were reports last week that the NECR had 100+ cars at the White River Jct. yard waiting to be moved north and/or south. Have the cars been moved? Good luck, P&W! lol Pic from cjmdawg111. Necr has been in a complete meltdown mode for the last few weeks, really putting a damper on vtr, cmq and ...

Re: CMQ Profitability

I don't think you would see the Newport sub abandoned. If that ever happened you see state Vermont stepping in to buy that line. There great potential for that line being though route again Its practically abandoned now.... I agree with you there is great potential, just need a different operator...

Re: CMQ Profitability

50 to 60 car loads per week? Where are you getting your info? Not even close... That's what management thinks but they are ignorant... Some of the most ignorant management we have ever seen. 1 trip to newport in the last 9 days and only 17 loads moved in interchange over conn river. This is the aver...

Re: CMQ Profitability

Look for cmq to all but abandon the Newport sub. We'll be looking at 2-3 trips a month to newport shortly... worst railroad in the history of vt. Period. But we should be thankful that they are making a profit. Heres to many more years of deggresion to abandonment under cmq of this beat down line......

Re: CMQ Profitability

Major cuts coming to CMQ, the vermont job 710 is about to be abolished. Several jobs in maine as well. Several large prospective contracts have fallen through. On yet another note-Most cmq Vermont customers will be getting traffic from the south avoiding cmq as much as possible. Look for the rest of...
