Re: Rail Traffic Controller

MNRR dispatchers are called RTC's. Rail Traffic Controllers. You will not be hired off the street unless your were a dispatcher from another RR.

When did MNRR stop running the Christmas Train for kids with cancer? I remember in years past they would go from New Haven to Waterbury. Also why would they stop running it?

You have only had your resume in for one year. It took my best friend over 3 years to hire out with MNRR. You have to keep updating your application if you really want the job.

The AMO & PMO crews have to be qualified. So does the Water World crew.

1500 NHV 1300 STM 1700 New Canaan 1800 Dan 1900 WBY 1400 BPT 1200 Harrison, 1503 is NHV-GCT, the last # is odd so it is heading west bound. It's the 1st train out of NHV but connects with 1303. The oddball is 1399 which departs at 0041. 1399 should be 1301, seeing that it is the 1st eastward train.

Not a Conductor but have a roomate who works there. He gives me his old timetables and answers most of my questions. He does not post here but trolls. He tells me that Dutch is half the man he used to be. :-D

I bought Yankee Stadium tickets and was told they would be Peak hour. I always believed that if you were not going to Manhattan or Harlem you purchased an intermediate ticket. I know I'm travelling on a different division but the distance is shorter. Can any of the workers who post here give an info...

The Amtrak fares are much higher than the SLE fares are per mile. Amtrak charges $11.00 for NHV-HFD @ 37 miles. SLE charges $8.25 for NLC-NHV @ 50.6 miles. MNRR costs $6.25 for NHV-STM @ 39 miles. MNRR charges $2.25 for WTBY-BPT @ 32 miles. If CDOT would increase the subsidy on the new service it co...

New Haven is a very senior crew base. A "FNG" is going to New York.

Was there any mention of new engines or equipment in the article? Double tracking, new signal system, fixing old bridges and adding 2 new stations and parking. CDOT will never get it done before 2015. Electrifying the corridor would add another 4 years and 500 million.

MNRR are performing wire work on the new M8 yard (TK 38) and also the inner loop in New Haven yard forcing SLE trains to fuel and leave New Haven engines facing East.

If you want to be a Conductor then you will have to hire out with Amtrak. With the New Haven crew base shrinking because of the thru trains from BOS-NYP, your chances of holding a SLE job are slim to none for your first few years. When the MNRR M8's come into service you will hear the rumours that t...

T & E are Amtrak crews out of NHV. There overseen by CDOT. What job are you looking for, MGMT. or Road Crews. There is not a seperate roster for the SLE crews.
