Re: SEPTA NPT card will be "SEPTA Key"?

Question about purchasing a Key Card: The SEPTA Key website apparently blocks overseas IP addresses, so I can't locate a retailer that isn't one of the major stations (30th Street, Market East, Suburban, etc). I'll be in the Collegeville-area in late March/early April, so I was wondering if anyone k...

Bumping because this is relevant again. SEPTA’s social media has been touting the following new map, which includes a lot of bus lines and all of the trolley lines: https://www.instagram.com/septaphilly/p/BucEhbKA7N2/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=1at8we5jxw1up" onclick="window.ope...

I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say that while the double decker trains are intended only for the NEC, Keystone Corridor, and West Trenton lines, the sprinters will be paired with Comet IIs and IIIs on the Lansdale/Norristown and Media/Elwyn (by that time Media/Wawa) lines. The Warminster lin...

Just for clarification, are you asking if/when SEPTA will increase service to Newark? Because SEPTA already serves Newark DE via Wilmington, albeit only during peak hours.

Any increased service would have to be funded by DART, so it's not really up to SEPTA.

My best guess is it has to do with the Royal Standard of the UK. The Red Lion is part of the Scottish Royal Banner, so the name probably goes back to our Colonial founding.

I think it'll be good if something happens, a lot of workers being late to work because of SEPTA's dumb gates and there'll be even less riders! SEPTA: Making stupid decisions after another. I can't think of a regional rail system with gate controls except some European systems (such as RER). ...and...

Trenton has a few places equipment gets squirreled away Reportedly SEPTA is looking into NJT's old Barracks Yard (a small set of sidings on the NEC east of the station) for additional storage. NJT moved to Morrisville in 2004. I thought Barracks flooded frequently and that's why NJT was happy to mo...

Hey Glenn, where was that picture taken? I don't recognize the second set of tracks to the left of the pic.

Also interesting how they want to make the Warminster line double track again. There's still available ROW from Ardsley to just past Bradfield Road at Roslyn to fit a second track, as far as I know. I haven't been in that areas for a few years now, so I can't say if much has changed. Having grown u...

If it involves a disability act and the use of mixed font, it probably has to do with assisting people with dyslexia. Capital letters are more block-shaped than their lower-case counterparts and not every sufferer of dyslexia can disipher the different letters as easily. Take a look at this Daily Ma...

What route did the special trolleys (37, 46, etc) run? I imagine a lot of the original rails for those routes has been long ripped up.

I saw a video a few days ago about Philadelphia in the 90s. In that video there was a shot of a Ridge-Spur train at 8th and Market and it displayed "Girard" as its end point. What was up with that service? Ridge-Spur trains used to only run Girard-8th/Market. Not sure when they made the c...

Just a thought- Since the stations in Delaware are owned by DelDOT, would they be able to install their own SEPTA Key fare machines? Or would this be SEPTA-dependent since it's their fares?

I think a lot of it is that the program is making giving convenient for people. Going to the train station is a daily activity for thousands, so if they can give at their local station, people don't have to go out of their way in order to give. I used to donate items when I was at Temple. I hope SEP...
