Can we get back to the facts please? I have to ask, what does the conductors personal life have to do with this accident? Might make more sense to put in some sort of cross honoring agreement to expand Amtraks reach via commuter rail.

In the past, when I have taken the train through this segment, I have always observed the train slowing down (perceptually at least.) So I am surprised to hear that the speed was higher than normal.

Honestly, I have to agree with the critics. While I appreciate the hard work going into restoring services, I'm surprised that an operation such as NJT rail does not have some sort of redundancy in place.
