If they face the ends from the center there should be facing seats at the ends (unless the space is used for accessible seating).

Princeton Junction = West Windsor Township. Bedroom community of New York, Philly, and Princeton. Rich, but in a very upper middle-class way, not Princeton proper way. The train station is the town's lifeblood, but I don't know how much they really care about the esthetics of it beyond safety and fu...

So MetroPark is not a complete rebuild but just repairs to one staircase.

Not living in the area anymore so I don't have the eye on things I used to - wasn't Metropark extensively renovated less than ten years ago? What are they doing now?

I went to the Rangers/Islanders game on Sunday. Normally I would have taken the train but because of the weather and the need to carry layers that would be excessive while on the train, four of us drove and four took the train. Attendance was 79,000. (Saturday had lower attendance due to sections be...

Understood that change of modes in the middle of Harold/anywhere other than a platform would be bad. It's unfortunate that there is no catenary to Woodside. The purpose of running to Jamaica is not for the nonexistent passenger from JFK but as a proof of concept for through running and to eliminate ...

MACTRAXX - why would you even consider using LIRR equipment? Just because the runs would be serving that territory? NJT has ALP-45s perfectly suited for operating on both sides of PSNY.

Pure Foamer Fantasy: Would this be an opportunity to test through running by cutting back on some regular service and running through shuttles using NJT equipment between Stamford and EWR and Jamaica and EWR?

The only reason for that to happen would be if New York actually cracks down on AirBnB. I'm fairly certain NJ doesn't have the hotel inventory to accommodate that. Travelers from outside the US will see the stadium name as New York New Jersey and not understand and book rooms in New York. Travelers ...

The platforms at Secaucus max out at 10 cars. Not sure what having 2 locomotives gets you, cab cars don't have that much fewer seats to make that worthwhile. It was my understanding that going to 12 cars required two motors, my proposal had nothing to do with capacity of cab cars. Not sure if the i...

I've seen quotes of capacity for the line being 10,000 passengers per hour. That's less than 10 trains per hour. (Assuming 10 car MLV sets.) Are the platforms at the stadium long enough for a 12 car set with locomotives on both ends? What about two motors on the East End so they would be off the pla...

Why wouldn't they install 40 acres of solar panels above the rail yard and do something more productive with the other 36 acres?

The LIRR concourse was renovated to remove low hanging beams. Surely modern engineering can find a solution to make supporting columns smaller and/or fewer in number without compromising the integrity of the building even while not interrupting occupancy and use.

Re: NJT - Expanding/Opening New Terminals?

Many times over the years it has been repeated here that Hoboken is overcrowded. Prior to MidTown Direct Hoboken handled many more trains. Prior to Secaucus Junction it handled many more passengers from the Main, Bergen, Pascack Valley and Port Jervis trains. How is it overcrowded now?

Surprised no one else has mentioned this: The Gandy Dancer in Ann Arbor occupies the original station building there. In spite of my four years in Ann Arbor and many trips back since I've never eaten there so can't speak to the quality of the food but it has been there since 1970 and survived Covid....
