Guilford Rail System changed its name to Pan Am Railways in 2006. Discussion relating to the current operations of the Boston & Maine, the Maine Central, and the Springfield Terminal railroads (as well as the Delaware & Hudson while it was under Guilford control until 1988). Official site can be found here: PANAMRAILWAYS.COM.
A waste of $50,000 planning money. My estimate just to get off the ground: $5-10 Million. self propelled cars, new roadbed, signals, bridges, storage/maintenance area, PLUS labor costs. Hire a bus for the 2 MILE trip to Salem station.

The good news...they mention the $200K for track addition at Rousellot. Now if we could only get the line re-activated to the industrial park...
I'm glad Rousselot is receiving this grant. They've wanted more service from Pan Am which they were unable to get. So the next best solution is to be able to receive and hold more cars in between switches. They have their own trackmobile to do the spotting, anyway. They've seemingly made quite a dramatic turn in business over the years, great to see them thriving.
