Freight car truck identification

Can anyone identify this truck type? It’s under an Evans built coil gondola. ... 268detail2
It’s definitely at least a 100 ton, possibly a 125 ton. I’ve had it suggested that it’s a 125 ton Buckeye, but I’ve not managed to find an identified photo of one to compare.

The truck in question has to be 125-ton. Look at the other pictures for P&LE 42268. The Load limit (LD LMT) 238,500 lbs and Light weight (LT WT) 76,500 lbs add up to 315,000 lbs. This is the limit on 125-ton trucks. Buckeye trucks tended to be 6-axles. Perhaps this is a 125-ton Barber truck?

However, I find the photos and the car itself very intriguing. P&LE 42268 is a modified Evans "breadbox" covered coil gondola car. I believe there were only 60 units built, 50 for the P&LE and 10 for the B&LE. The car originally had a cover made of 2 circular pieces that split open and dropped along the sides to allow for loading and unloading of steel coils. Take a look at the picture of the gondola car and between the "26" and "8" you can see the guide on which the cover used to ride along on.

The subject for this week’s post is a very obscure prototype that actually found its way into the Lionel product line in the 1970s. Although only 60 of the prototype cars ever existed, they have been reproduced by the thousands in HO scale by Lionel and other manufacturers.
