NYC Building Reports

Postby Partlow P.O. » Tue Jun 25, 2013 6:59 am

I was wondering how often building reports were issued by the NYC. I have a copy of the building reports for the St. Lawerence Division in 1953. The Adirondack Branch is included in this report. Does anyone else have, any other building reports for the Adirondack Branch before 1953.

Ted, sorry it`s taken a while to reply. I had loaned the reports out. On the 1953 reports, it does not mention the roundhouse at Massena, sorry. However there are 10 other buildings on the report for Massena.

In a 1958 diagram it shows a roundhouse or enginehouse. What structures are on the report you have for 1953? Its not to say the paperwork I have is in error.
thanks for everything ! Ted

These are the building`s list on the 1953 Building Reports for Massena.
# 357 - Car Repair Shop... Dismantled in 1934
# 358 - Oil House...40x16x9 built in 1914
# 365 - Flag Cabin... 8x8x7 burned 7-6-1936
# ? ?? - Tractor House...Dismantled 1926 A.F.E.22815
# 371 - Flag Cabin....6'6"x6'6"x8'7" built in 1890 & moved to Sterlingville
# 369 - Ice House...40x24x12 built in 1906 Sold A.F.E. 48118 March 1940
# 368 - Frieght House....120x20x12 built in 1906 Destroyed by fire A.F.E.67685
# 355 - Car Dept Store House... 36x8x7'6" Removed A.F.E.73810-94
# 367 - Stock Yard...29x46 built in 1881 Removed A.F.E. 74890-74
# 356-B - Coaling Plant.... Removed A.F.E. Pending

Every building was issued a number, when the I.C.C. had railroads take inventory back in the teens. Obviously this is not a complete list for Massena. This is all that`s listed on the reports for 1953
