If you want to run trains, or just want display models, Rapido Trains is coming out with accurate 8600-series coaches (Pullman-Standard stainless steel).

Here's the offering from Rapido Trains: http://rapidotrains.com/8600.html

From Rapido and their distributors, they'll be available in two styles: Delivery scheme with skirts, and McGinnis scheme without skirts. Also available, without skirts, will be Penn Central, MBTA and Unlettered.

However, also available will be the McGinnis scheme with skirts. These are available only through the NHRHTA. All three, through the NHRHTA, will be twenty dollars less than MSRP.

I’m happy with Pullman - Osgood-Bradley coaches that I received, so hopefully the 8600 Series will be just as good. I emailed Rapido to inquire if the would consider doing a production of the “Washboard” units. They responded that they were not contemplating doing this type, since there would be insufficient interest to justify a production run.

To date (http://thenhrhtanewhavenrailroadforum.yuku.com/topic/8091/8600SERIES-COACHES-ORDERING-UPDATE#.VUoHIjrD874),some 74 modelers have ordered some 373 OB SS coaches.

The better the sales of coaches, the better the chances of parlors being produced.
