Erie MOW electrics roster question

Postby nydepot » Mon Jan 23, 2012 3:39 pm

Typically, railroads that had electric operations, including fully electric like a trolley, had electric MOW cars like tower or line cars, sweepers, etc.

I've never really seen anything mentioned on the Erie's electric operations out of Avon, NY and what, if any, electric MOW cars were used. I always just see the electric coaches themselves mentioned.

Were there any? Thanks.

I believe the Erie's Rochester electrification also hosted steam powered trains that ran through from points beyond the wire and freight was steam powered. So there wasn't any need for any specialty electric work equipment except maybe a line car.
