NJ Transit Uboats to Brazil

Postby pjw1967 » Mon Jul 27, 2015 2:30 pm

Thought folks might be interested in these 2 units. In July of 2007, I was riding around our ocean terminal. We had been carrying lots of used GE locos to Brazil around that time. The bulk of them seemed to by BN units. I saw these 5 and something looked familiar so I stopped to take a closer look. Bingo. 2 NJ Transit units, 4167 and 4180 were in the line. http://s1355.photobucket.com/user/pjw1967/library/U34CH
I wonder if they ever ran again and, if so, are they still running? You see old GE locos running now and again in Brazil on www.railpictures.net.

I'm pretty sure that they were sold as parts units, unfortunately. Thanks for the pictures!
