Maine Central opened the connection between Fabyan and Scotts Jct. October 6, 1890. Prior to that trains operated over
the Boston, Concord & Montreal until that road was leased to Boston and Lowell and the operational contract cancelled.
From that point B&L operated the trains with P&O/MEC operations terminating at Fabyans. Also of note is that MEC's
westward connection, the St. Johnsbury and Lake Champlain, came under B&L control in the mid 1880's. This info from
Ron Johnson's book on the Mountain Division

I read (recently actually) the control of this line was also under the B&M for sometime.
