(CONTEST CLOSED) Tri-Rail: Go Green and Save

Postby GreenRail » Fri Oct 02, 2009 2:38 pm

Moderator edit: CONTEST IS CLOSED

I'm just spreading the word about Tri-Rail's latest campaign. It's called "Go Green and Save" and is encouraging south Floridians to ride Tri-Rail and save money as well as the environment. If you visit the web site: http://www.tri-rail.com, you can register to win one of three FREE one-year transit passes. In 2008, Tri-Rail switched to biodiesel fuel.

(Mod note: Removed unsupported claims about transit savings and needless hyperbole/tall talk).

While obviously an advertisement by Tri-Rail/SFRTA (under a pretty flimsy PR mask, I might add), I'll let this stand for the meantime, though locked. It apparently costs nothing to enter, and as this comes from a government-run commuter agency, it isn't shilling a private entity for profit (at least, it isn't supposed to).

As this "contest" is not sponsored by Railroad.net, I have re-printed the fine print of the contest rules from the TRCX site as a disclaimer to anyone who reads this thread.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT RAILROAD.NET HAS NO AFFILIATION WITH THIS CONTEST.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR ODDS OF WINNING. One entry per household. All entries must be completed and received at http://www.tri-rail.com or by mail at P.O Box 5148 Lighthouse Point, FL, 33074-5148 with legible information including name, address, telephone and e-mail by October 30, 2009. Winners will be notified by registered mail, telephone and/or U.S. Mail on, or about, November 13, 2009. Certain restrictions apply. Winners must be 21 years of age or older and legal residents of Broward, Miami-Dade or Palm Beach counties. Prize is non-transferable. No cash value.

Three winners will be randomly selected to win:

A one-year pass to ride Tri-Rail valid from the date/time winner receives the pass.

Approximate Retail Value = $1,000 each winner

Odds of winning depend on number of entries received. Entrants agree Tri-Rail has the sole right to decide all matters and disputes arising from this contest and that its decision is final and binding. Tri-Rail reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the contest. Winners are solely responsible for reporting and payment of any taxes on prizes. Entrants agree to allow use of their name, voice, photograph, likeness and any information provided on entry form, in any medium of communication, including print, Internet, radio and/or television and for any purpose, including advertising, promotional or other purposes by Tri-Rail, plus affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion agencies, promotional partners or sponsors, without additional compensation. To be removed from our mailing list, please write to Tri-Rail, P.O. Box 5148 Lighthouse Point, FL, 33074-5148. Winners, by acceptance of their prize, agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless Tri-Rail and any participating promotional partners, and their respective parent companies, franchisees and affiliates and each of their employees, representatives, contractors, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion agencies, sponsors and advertisers, from any and all liability, loss, damage, costs or claims related to any allegation regarding the award of, the receipt of or the use of their prize. Winners may be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and release of liability prior to receiving their prize. Tri-Rail and participating promotional partners shall not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, misdirected or illegible entries or for failure to receive entries due to transmission failure or technical failures of any kind.

ELIGIBILITY: Sweepstakes is not open to employees of Tri-Rail or their immediate family or to employees or immediate family of any of their franchisees, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising or promotional agencies or sponsors. Void where prohibited or restricted.
