I think the detectors are 20-30 feet southeast of Legion Place bridge. (Google satellite view)

Thanks, I'm not looking to go there, I hear the detector saying two Eastbound tracks and just curious.

Something interesting from today,

NJTransit announced extended rail service on lines, and the picture for the tweet they posted about it pictures ALP-44 4421 at Red Bank Station.

4421 isn't present on the Lackawanna cuttoff.

Coincidence? I don't really think that 4421 would magically show up this weekend, but I just found it weird.

Anyone know where this detector is? "Milepost Four Point Zero". My Google fu isn't working today. Thanks.

The detector you're referring to is the detector at MP E4.0; this detector is located somewhere near the Woodbridge station.

Ok, so, A little over a year later of the above post and I still can't find an answer re: E 4.0 detector. On a map it shows just 1 Eastbound and 1 Westbound track but the detector is still saying "E 4.0 Track 1" and "E 4.0 Track 2".

Anyone? Thanks!

Havent you seen the mileposts? E0.0 is at the start of the Perth Amboy and Woodbridge branch near GRAW. Mileposts increase going west to about the River drawbridge, where they drop the "E" designation in front of the milepost, and the mileposts reset to 0.0, and all automatic signals have the "L" designation in front of them for the NY&LB RR.

"E4.0" is the milepost of the defect detector just east of WOOD near the fuel tank farm.

I believe it's based on how the PA&W used to be solely a PRR operation, and after WOOD, things were jointly operated by the NY&LB RR (with the owners being the PRR/CRRNJ)

8200s and 8300s running today. Should have a northbound Conrail move out of Red Bank per the Southern Secondary forum.

No I haven't. I never took a NJT train; I don't live in NJ but across the river from Perth Amboy. Thanks for the info.

The 2312/2313 rotation today is (from what I hear) the 4508/6035 extended set. 2313 will be the last 2300 series to run for this year.

2312 yesterday was a four car set with 4506 pushing.

2303 had the 4508/6035 seven car set.
But where were they going without ever knowing the way?

Would anyone know if 7200 runs on a Monday morning, being the 4780 starts the night before?

And also, I've been trying to dig around for the 2015 schedule which ran the extra 2300 series before the ALP-45DP's came in, anybody have that?
