Rust is really catching up with the 01200s. If management was smart enough, they:

1). Would have ordered the 0600s and 01200s in painted aluminum like the 01500/01600/01700s or

2). Purchased a replacement fleet for both Blue and Orange lines simultaneously.
Since my friend continues to chain smoke nonstop, she is probably an Alco.

Great variety, thank you for sharing. :)

I wish we had more more posts like this. I've seen other forums with threads for photos but I don't recall us ever having one for the MBTA. Not to hijack your thread, but perhaps we could make this the photo thread for the forum?

Nice pics! Just one thing though, your Orange Line pictures labeled "Wellington" are actually all at Malden Center

Good photos. Did anyone hassle you about taking pictures?

The plan is for a joint Red and Orange Line order.

Have they considered ordering more Red Line trains of the existing 1800 design? Then they'd save all the costs of engineering, and get a proven reliable product which meets all current standards.

At this time, they've done next to nothing, really. The production of these cars should already be underway at this point, but they haven't even been put to bid.

nope, the funny thing was, when i asked conductors if it was okay to photograph in North Station they were like uhh sure and gave me a look like why do you have to even ask that. I told em back where I'm from the train crews are more neurotic and crazy about train photos.
