I've seen it there to. Maybe it's getting some new parts off the back-up unit?

MARC 52 is heading west. It left worcester on a CSX train westbound out of worcester around 4:00. I only know that because I was in the area. I'll explain later...

Just spotted 66 in Rockport with 011 in the lead. Is it 66 that is having issues or 011?

011 had recently broken down and the 66 has had little to no problems so I would think it is 011 that is the bad egg!

I believe that 011 is providing HEP and 66 is providing traction since the HEP on the 011 can handle more cars than the HEP on the 66, while the 66 can handle just as many cars as the rest of the fleet as far as tractive effort. They probably put 011 in the lead due to the cable receptacle locations on the front end.

The 011 has been repaired and is being tested before being set free on its own. I do enjoy seeing it with the 66! Lets keep the 011 discussion to it's thread so people don't miss anything.

I saw one of the engines(not sure which one it was) around 4:45 coming out of the Salem tunnel on Thursday. At a glance, it seemed like a short train, but I'm not sure. I think it had only 4 coaches, none of them being Bilevels.

Get your pictures while you can, the rumor around B.E.T. is that at least three of them are going to be returned to MARC very soon. Two of the most obvious candidates are 66, which has been laid up with traction motor trouble for several weeks and 51, which has already been drained and stored at B.E.T.

Last week I saw one of the units is missing a number plate on the front. Can't remember which one.

Why return them now? Winter is coming and I hear the ol' almanac is calling for a very cold one! They might be crap, but let's keep extra units around for a few months at least...

I thought they were keeping them until the HSP-46s arrive?

Or maybe they're sending them back and leasing some of the other MARC units (there were more than 5 available)

The one that you are talking about is #61. It has had a bad number board ever since it came to MBCR and has gotten much worse since.
