Did The Green Line Change It Radio Frequency ?

Postby StevieC48 » Wed Sep 01, 2004 12:11 pm

It seems after Sunday night the Green Line has changed its radio frequency (470.6375). I havent heard word 1 on the frequency since Sunday night. Did they go to their new 800MHZ frequency the MBTA was talking about going over to or are they having repeater trouble? If they went to 800MHZ does any one know the new frequencys it would be appreciated posted. Thanks for the Help Stevie

They must've changed it to keep the terrorists from spying on them!

470.6375 is silent. Odd, that... seems the MBTA Police channel was not changed. I'd think that would have been the one to change first.

Hopefully someone will find out what the new channel is soon, so I can go back to getting a handle on how things are going before I go somewhere on the Green Line. I used to listen in before going anywhere back when I commuted on the Green Line every day to school and work (whih were always time-sensitive trips). It was kind of like SmartRoutes but with much better information!

470.6375 is back on the air. I can hear it, albeit with a bit more static than usual, here in South Boston.

green line radios

Postby willfh » Mon Sep 06, 2004 2:20 am

I think the radio repeaters in the above ground areas have been cut back due to the lack of a leachmere station

NOOOO! Now how am I supposed to listen in? :-p say, does anyone know if a scanner will pick up the greenline underground? I'm assuming so, since I'm heading off to school tomorrow, I do want to be able to listen in on my trips in and out of the city.

The repeaters are all up and running thanks to Comtronics in Quincy Ma. I just keyed up my two-way radio and the repeater was strong loua and clear from here in Everett. Enjoy the holiday all Stevie

Steve: you work on the GL i take it???

RC: I pick up trains most in GC and Pk. St. I imagine thats the trains and not the repeater. (Im in Framingham so i imagine if your any closer you shouldnt have any trouble.)

I work for the Boston Fire Dept in conjunction with the MBTA so I am assigned a T radio for my job. Hope that helps
