Well, I wouldn't call MGH a point of interest but I get what you mean.

No, it was more than that. When I was a kid, before the MBTA was formed, a fully colored version of this map was on the walls of many of the stations, serving as a kind of system map. As a kid, I used to think the map was so cool, and seeing it again now brings back so many great memories of how Boston used to be back then in the late 1950's/early 60's.

I think the map may also have been posted in some of the Main line (Orange line) cars as well.
