Home invaders flee on MBCR train, arrested in Wellesley

Postby Ron Newman » Tue Jun 29, 2004 10:28 am

Check this out, in today's Herald:

5 nabbed in home invasion horror

Police in three towns collared the five alleged assailants, including two who were hauled off a Boston-bound commuter rail train in Wellesley...

Louis Destine, 18, and Anadson Ducasse, 23, both of Somerville, fled to a nearby commuter rail station and boarded a train....

Wellesley cops met the commuter train at the Wellesley Farms stop a little before 9 a.m. and described the men to a conductor.

Police used the public address system to evacuatethe roughly 80 confused commuters. The fugitives stayed aboard and were conversing when cops nabbed them.

Like many of the anxious passengers, the wanted duo apparently thought the evacuation involved a terrorist plot or a security drill.

How 'bout that. I guess criminals do ride public transit out to the burbs for the loot!

Here's a longer, more detailed story from the Framingham daily:

Bloody break-in: Gun-toting suspects beat, rob Holliston homeowner

Looks like they arrived by car (which the lone woman suspect drove), but two of them tried to get away via commuter rail after committing the crime. They boarded the train in Framingham.

The Globe hasn't covered this story at all.

or

I hope they weren't subject to an unreasonable search! :P
