So wait are they in the dead line?

I can't vouch for the 3248 at Readville, but yes, the 3249 has been pushed out back at B.E.T. with the 902 and 1016 and 1132. The 3249 hasn't run in over 2 weeks, nobody knows why.

Just out of curiosity, did the MBTA straight out buy these switchers or was some federal/state grant involved?

I believe it was a Federal grant.

I wonder if there is a 90 day return policy on the units ;-) Anyone save the receipt?

Here is SEPTAs unit working a work train down there. http://www.trainweb.org/phillynrhs/RPOTD090507.html

Not to go off topic... But I thought I would share the link.

Don't believe there is anything wrong with units, but give MBTA time to train mechanics and operationg personel on these units.
Manuals must be writen and bulletins issued, so just give them time.
It took SEPTA nearly 2 months before maiden voyage.
If Conductors are in charge, why are they promoted to be Engineer???

Not sure what the laws are in Canada and that's not a discussion for this thread.

3248 is in use on the Readville Switcher, at least as of last night. I saw it near Yawkey Station on my way home late last night.

The 3248 is heading south tonight on the Readville Switcher.
The 3249 is coming back to BET for "work".
