You know, it didn't seem like 20 minutes...I based the earlier time off the timestamp on my original post, but I've no idea if that was accurate.

[EDIT: timestamp on this post is 1 hour later than clock time, so perhaps 1h20m to/from Acton makes sense.]

Looks like they added stone to the derailment site in Belmont as well.

To whoever updates the NETransit page:
I never knew F40 1026 could be both North and South at the same time...who knew!

1026 has Super powers installed from BET to help with locomotive shortages ...

Something weird crossed South Street in Waltham just around 1PM today, heading outbound. I was in my car, just turning the bend so didn't see it, but the engine pulling it looked like Amtrack colors, and it was pulling at least 5 cars of some type (again, I was pretty far away and looking in the rearview mirror). Any ideas?

Was the extra move from south side to north and it was amtrak 175 leading with 13 pieces of equipment trailing.

I was afraid that was it. Too bad I wasn't one minute later going to lunch.

Thanks.

I spotted an inbound train at Forest Hills this morning which seemed to be off the Needham line around 8:35am, 2 bilevels and #1075 pushing.

There was an alert that due to the wire problem (still?) Needham trains were bypassing Ruggles station

Still, the Needham trains are typically 5-6 cars, and generally are pretty full. I can't imagine 2 cars made for a comfortable ride.

Three locomotives (1025, 1115, and 1058 ) and and one coach observed idling in South Acton just east of the single track at 0800.

I would assume an equipment move northside to southside via Ayer, but I thought I had read they typically went through Lawrence?

a unique sighting....in the Pawtucket Amtrak MOW base, I saw today 3 of our 3 axled flat cars, MBTX 5*, 5*, 5*, with what appeared to be getting their top wooden deck replaced, by Amtrak crews...doing us a favor for some unpaid fees like PanAm and our F40's??

No the route is Boston to Ayer via Fitchburg route not through Lawrence.
