New MBTA website beta testing

Postby StefanW » Mon Mar 20, 2017 4:11 pm

https://beta.mbta.com/

It's full of real-time information, and has a very modern, streamlined design.

Note at the top it says "Submit your thoughts to help us make the best possible website for you."

I like how the "Find nearby stops and stations" is right at the top, and if you click the blue arrow button you'll get all the stops & routes in order of distance away. (That's assuming you let your web browser send your location to the website.)
The Blue Line is good for Lynn, and Lynn is good for the Blue Line.

I don't have anything negative to say about the site.... but then again I don't have anything positive to say either.

I feel that it would be less cluttered if they used tabs instead of dumping everything onto the front page.

As far as I can tell, they haven't updated it since its initial launch. My interpretation is that it is supposed to be mobile-friendly, instead of having a separate mobile website. I hate mobile websites and this one in particular seems like garbage, to me. To each their own, but I just don't think it's all that pretty or, more importantly, user-friendly.
