Looks to be delays tonight on the Newburyport / Rockport lines due to a crossing issue. Wish they would give more information than just "between Chelsea and Newburyport due to a crossing issue."

Lots of Cancelations again tonight.

Just when things started looking better again Monday it looks like the equipment took another hit today.

They must be desperate. I saw an old MBB coach (502 - not a cab car) in a consist yesterday.

502 has been around the block and still keeps on kicking with the updated K-car prototype bathroom, IIRC.

108 was piping it in, but a very keen dispatcher realized switching everyone to 162 at Beverly would get them in quicker. The 108 passengers will end up being about 60 minutes late and 162 passengers about 12 min. late but it was a good compromise. I call this a mitigation success.

K-car non-rebuild 771 took the honors yesterday as first car of the season with the heat stuck on during an 80-degree day.

LOL I've never heard of a case where fire department activity actually causes a train to operate near schedule. :-D

Looks like the North-South Rail Link is up and operating :)

Providence Train 829 (6:50 pm from S. Station) has departed S. Station & is operating 5-15 minutes late en route to Wachusett due to the late arrival of equipment.

Affected direction: Outbound

If a train departs for Providence from South Station at 6:50pm, I wonder what time it arrives in Wachusett. I also wonder if it doubles back and goes via North-South Rail Link or if it takes the P&W Mainline, then Pan Am's Worcester Mainline, and via Ayer.

Dunno the cause, but D-3 acknowledged 404 back on the move just east of Derby at 0542/04-24-2014, the schedule time for Shirley. As of 0702, there was no service alert for delay.

I've long since deleted the T alerts, but worth noting that Haverhill #202 apparently had a serious crisis of the mechanical nature this morning in Lawrence, and pretty much messed up everything thru the rest of the AM rush on the Western Route (including some changed to Reading locals to help cover, etc). It sounded like 202 was close to 90-120 minutes late by the time they got it out of Lawrence.
Wondering if I'll see the Haverhill double-tracking finished before I retire...

Meltdown on Framingham-Worcester this AM. Loco 2004 with a bad HEP and failed air compressor on P508 cascaded delays for rest of morning. Full story on my blog:
