What is the "T" presently paying MBCR? Is it an increase or a decrease the current budget?

What should we expect? Unicorns and rainbows or total dysfunction?

The MBTA is a quasi private-quasi public authority. Because of this status, couldn't the T simply run the system themselves verses having a contractor run it for them? All of the workers would be on railroad retirement just like workers on privately run railroads.

Any idea on what Keolis will name the system?

In theory, yes. It is often debated whether or not it would be beneficial for the T to bring operations in house and not have to deal with contractors. This is much more common for the larger CR agencies.

Here's what I got out of that article:
MBCR: "We want to see everything to do with Keolis' bid, whether they or the T likes it or not. Oh, and while we're at it, we demand the MBTA stay hush-hush about financial information concerning 2/3 of our entity."

Gee, wonder who that would benefit?!

Sounds like the sore loser feels left out in the cold. I knew this was going to happen since come July 1st, MBCR has no reason to exist anymore.
Hoping for a rebirth of the Screamer fleet.

I'm not totally familiar with the RFP process, but it seems to me the T is being *very* transparent about all of this. It's almost like the I's got dotted and the T's got crossed four times each just to make sure asses were covered.

Interesting that the Keolis documents look complete, while the MBCR documents look almost entirely redacted. Kinda makes it hard to compare.
