both engines have been running online, and varies each day to which one supplies the HEP

Two engines again this morning on Train 808. Why two engines on that train? Breaking in #2030 with a spare just in case?

508 has had its issues a few times in the last few weeks with engine problems, and is a "high priority" train, so the idea was brought up to put a second engine in, just in case, and like someone mentioned, helps fighting the hills going to Worcester during the slippery rail season....PVD was given a 2nd engine as well for the same reason, 806/808 have had their issues prior to this addition

An extra out of Middleboro tonight for the Grafton & Upton. One set plus
F40 1013 and 5 MBB Coaches (507, 518,524,530,1518). Guess the 1013 was
repaired enough to provide HEP for Polar Express duty.

An extra passed west through Ruggles at 11:50am on Track 3 without stopping. 1035 was facing South Station, and I think the leading CTC was 1700. A test train, perhaps?

Light 1116 also passed through west on Track 1 shortly after 11am, long hood forward.

There was also an unscheduled train that went through Roslindale, inbound at about 12:30-1pm today. Maybe the same test train?

def not the 1700 CC, that is down in Rochester along with 3 other rebuild K cars and the 2000....are you sure it wasn't the 1115, they came engine lite thru Southampton at 10:30a, Amtrak was busy with the LOOP track at that hour, so it is very plausible that the 1115 used the WYE track between BROAD and COVE in order to face the correct direction....seeing as she was put onto a train for the evening rush hour

tried to edit my post, but no dice....the CC you saw was the 1701 married to the 1035

Ah, ok, I wasn't sure on that number since it caught me off guard, and I definitely wasn't expecting the CTC to be leading while rolling through much faster than normal.

Re: 1116, I'm almost certain it was the 16 and not the 15. They came back east at 1:15 hauling a dead set with the 2032.

A fellow Twitter user reported sighting of MBTX 904 with "4 transport containers" (not sure what that means) through Wellesley Square at ~9 AM Wednesday 12/9. No direction specified.

I saw an interesting equipment move tonight, about an hour ago. Two HSP46's running solo, back to back, heading south over the Neponset river bridge.

I wasn't able to get their numbers, but I'm guessing they were going to Rochester?

More than likely it was a so-called "Snowbuster" extra. Probably for the Greenbush & Plymouth-Kingston
lines, since that's where a most of the snow piled up.

A couple days ago I caught the Middleboro Extra with 904 trading 3 coaches and 3 F40s for 2 HSP46s from Mass Coastal. The F40s were numbered 301, 310, and 302, and the 2 HSP46s were 2009 and 2033. Here's my video: https://youtu.be/v17jKTk3XiY

The Geo Train made a trip down to the Middleboro Line today. I believe it did the Greenbush and Plymouth/Kingston Lines as well. It has 1060 leading south and 3248 north. Here's my video of it in Middleboro: https://youtu.be/1U3sADBTel4
