Very interesting. Now RI residents need to encourage their legislators to extend the line to Aquidneck Island. They are supposed to replace the Sakonnet River highway bridge, perhaps a rail route could alleviate the need for a completely new road bridge.

Looks like several more sets of equipment are going to be needed.

I am still interested in seeing how they are going to squeeze a commuter rail facility and adequate parking into that congested area at the foot of the hill in Fall River.

New Bedford will also be interesting to watch, as the administration there seems to be more concerned with the opportunity to bring in tourists than in having locals commute easily to Boston. The city has tremendous potential if they could just get rid of their endless fixation with pandering to the low income segment, and concentrate instead on attracting high income wage earners who are going to live there instead of just visit the historic district for an afternoon and leave. But the politics in New Bedford haven't changed in many decades and maybe they never will.
