MBCR Station in North Chelmsford?

Postby slotcanyoneer » Wed Feb 02, 2005 2:43 pm

I have heard romors from people saying that the MBCR may eventually extend the Lowell line to North Chelmsford as well. Are these rumors true?

There is a proposal to extend commuter rail service to Nashua meandering its way through the various bureaucracies involved in Mass, NH and the U.S. DOT. I believe a recent stall involving a lack of study funding by NH has been overcome. The only station location I have read about has been Nashua just beyond the Mall. Certainly Vinyl Square would be a logical place for a station in Chelmsford (which inversely affects its likelihood). I'll see if I can dig up the most recent info.

North Chumsford wants a station but right now it's not on the 5 year plan for the MBTA witch they are trying to do so it will be built if the train goes to Nashua.
