RR station? Newport Avenue at Furnace Brook Parkway, Quincy

Driving north on Newport yesterday, I noticed for the first time a set of steps heading up toward the rail embankment there. Did the Old Colony have a stop here?

No. The nearest stops were located approximately where the present day Wollaston and Quincy Center stations are.

Doesn't look like it. Looked at Quincy maps on Ward Maps from 1870s to the 1920s and there was nothing about a station there. The area was pretty swampy until the Mtreopolitan parkway (Now Furnace Brook Parkway) was built around 1900.

Taken from Google Street View. I don't have any answers for you though.

Can someone give me an address? I have access to old maps and could see if there were any building foot prints in the area.
