Glen Head Wreck in the 1990's - Help?

Looks vaugely like the aftermath of the Glen Street accident that happened when a lowboy got highsided on a crossing. IIRC, that was when they started putting those signs at crossings warning of it.

That's not Glen Head.

This is the Glen Street incident which resulted in the lowboy crossing signs as stated above. Engine 607 on a westbound in March of 1999.

As I recall, the powerpack involved was already spoken for or about to be spoken for pending retirement. Repairs were made for it to make interchange. It was later touched up and made “operable” (pushable) by the next & current owner.

Thank you folks for the clarification. The NEW YORK POST had reported it as Glen Cove Station incorrectly, also!

BTW: The photo thumbs that look correct, but post rotated (both here and on websites) are due largely to cell phone photo rotation issues. I fix it by saving the .jpg file as a .gif file, reopen and save back as a .jpg.
