New prime mover? & a question

Postby trainspot » Wed Dec 19, 2018 9:56 pm

Shot this from the train today, is this going into one of the engines?

And passing Richmond Hill in the lower tracks I saw a tank car & what looked like an older coach behind it. Can anyone confirm what it is? Thanks!

the older coach is probably an American Flyer-type going to scrap at FICX

Could be a salvaged Prime mover from 1 of the dead MP-15's.

At one point in recent history, all the DE & DMs were getting new prime movers. I dont know if the project was completed, dropped or whatever, but some engines I know were replaced.

after a few years they need overhaul, locomotive engines do not last for life of locomotive, they get overhauled every 5 to 6 years.
If Conductors are in charge, why are they promoted to be Engineer???

Retired M3 coach modified for use as part of a low-adhesion/alcohol train.
