LIRR Fleet List - June 30, 2008 - Part One

Postby MACTRAXX » Tue Jan 23, 2018 6:01 pm

Everyone:

I came across a LIRR Fleet List that was issued by Maintenance of Equipment/Engineering
with an issue date of June 30, 2008. The Reason that I decided to post this list is to show just
how little that the LIRR fleet has changed over the course of this almost-decade.

I will post the three parts of this Fleet List in three sections.

EMU cars-Listed in a odd/even format:

M-7 A car 7002-7836, Wt 127,500; 1060 HP, Built 2001-2007 by Bombardier, Total 418

C-3 T car 4002-4134; Wt. 141,270; 480VAC; 1997-1998; MAS 80/65; Kawasaki, Total 67.

Sandite/De-Icer (ALSA) Cars: E401 & E591; Wt. 90,750; 240/120VAC; 2002; 30mph; LIRR Conv.
Both are retired M1 "B" cars with lavatory.

With major service improvements such as the opening of the East Side Access and expansions
such as the Ronkonkoma-Farmingdale Second Track and the soon to begin Floral Park-Hicksville
Third Track this next ten year period is looking to be one with significant changes ahead.

Let's all see how the LIRR equipment roster may change during the next ten years.
This subject alone may be very interesting...MACTRAXX
