On the way home, it looked like steel for a building was being erected within the area I saw this morning.
Very strange but I'll see things better tomorrow morning.

Demolition is continuing of the north section of the Cut-off. The concrete ramp paralleling the approaches to (WB) East River tunnel is being broken up and carted away. It appears that the ramp will be demolished all the way to the trestle across the tunnel tracks.

@ MADDOG: If you are talking about the steel right below where the Cut-off crosses the approaches, it appears to be a protective shield to keep concrete chunks from falling on the active tracks. There is still a large excavator with a jack hammer attachment parked under the approach to the trestle.
