Very cool photos from 1955. I'm familiar with that intersection of Woodbury Rd. and Bay Ave. in Hicksville under the elevated tracks since 1965. You can see some old police cars and fire trucks of that era in the background of the top photo too.

Back in that time period that wheel loader was "known" as a"Michigan Shovel" tended to used by the town's highway dept
as a "brute force" snowplow when not loading sand trucks. :wink:
